Searching for used cars around Denver brought a funny little fact to my attention. Scrolling down the page of Google search results I noticed a Pinterest results page. Clicking on the link brought me to a very bright orange and blue pin filled with the Denver Bronco’s emblems, logos, and colors. No this is not an art page where Reese’s peanut butter cups meets Facebook’s color schemes. It is an unbelievably long set of Pins, all with pictures of the Denver Bronco’s colors and logos smattered onto vehicles of every shape and size. I was immediately taken aback by the sheer volume of photos. Not only that, these pictures are of what a fan voluntarily does to their own vehicle! Not only that, they PAID to do it! I mean don’t get me wrong, I’ve heard of team pride. Hell, I grew up in New England, so I KNOW what a “fair-weather fan” is. I just still can’t believe how many people have the Denver Bronco’s stallion or colors on their vehicles. It is truly amazing.
You Wouldn’t Believe Me if I Told You…
We are talking some serious fans in Denver. I saw a classic VW Bus with a blue and orange scheme that made even me, (a Pats fan,) smile. What was that 90s movie called? Varsity Blues? I think their truck is now a Broncos fan’s wagon. The rims on this 69 Coupe Deville make the huge stallion painted on the side look small. Seriously.
I’m not so sure I would want that number 18 Manning profile still on my Camaro now that he is retired, but hey, it’s not my car. I’m pretty sure I saw an F1, a ZL1, and an amount of Mustangs both old and new that boggles the mind. All of them decked out in Broncos style.
We Don’t Need That, We’ve Got Brady!
I guess it’s just an odd sight to me, but I do not understand why so many people paint their cars with team logos, player numbers, and team decals. I get the color scheming and I guess even the decals to a lesser extent. I do. Showing your team pride is a great morale boost in many ways. I’ve just never seen anything like this in New England where I am from. It is incredible. I guess having Tom Brady, the GOAT, or Greatest Of All Time, is more than enough to satisfy my team pride. Not only that, I can safely assume that many of my neighbors feel the same way. I can’t remember the last time I saw a truck roll by with a Patriots Logo plastered on its hood. The bumper stickers and decals? Without a doubt – they’re everywhere. I can only surmise that rooting for one of the best franchises in the NFL EVER inspires pride enough, not only for me, but for all of New England.
Cars in Denver
I wonder what Denver has for used cars. Do you think you can get a deal on that lifted Wrangler painted orange and blue with Manning’s mug smiling on the hood? Some people would probably pay more for it. I, personally, would take a pass. Just thinking about it makes me want a chicken parm. Is that weird? Or great marketing? Hmm…
