Whether you’re a long-time fan of Cadillac or this is your first time checking out what the luxury brand has to offer, one thing becomes clear pretty quickly when looking at what’s happening: it’s electrifying. Forgive the play on words, but it’s clear that Cadillac is committed to embracing electric vehicles in big ways, and this goes well beyond impressive options like the 2025 Cadillac LYRIQ. In fact, you’ll soon have half a dozen Cadillac EVs to choose from, giving you more all-electric options than just about any other brand I’ve seen and making electric luxury a niche that Cadillac clearly wants to dominate. So, what does this growing lineup of vehicles look like? Let’s check it out and then glance at the future while we’re at it.
2025 Cadillac OPTIQ
Checking out Cadillac’s EV lineup, things now start with the OPTIQ, which Cadillac refers to as “new entry-point EV luxury.” I’d call this a fair assessment because the OPTIQ serves as the entry point in this lineup and stands as a great option for anyone interested in learning what performance and sophistication feel like in Cadillac’s new range of EVs. This is a compact all-electric SUV, so it’s a good choice for anyone looking for something smaller, though it still delivers impressive performance with dual-motor electric all-wheel drive (eAWD) standard across the board. With an estimated 300 miles of range from a full charge, it seems aimed at drivers still experiencing some range anxiety but who want to try out EV performance.
The OPTIQ is designed to be sporty and agile, with 300 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque expected from its pair of motors, plus numerous drive modes that let drivers adjust performance to different road conditions. The fixed-glass roof on the OPTIQ looks great and perfectly integrates it into Cadillac’s other EV models, along with a black crystal grille that’s both distinct and at home in Cadillac’s lineup. Inside, Cadillac continues to impress with a 33-inch LED display showcasing 9k resolution that stretches across the front dashboard, plus Super Cruise hands-free driving is standard on every OPTIQ. Did I mention that a 19-speaker AKG sound system with Dolby Atmos is also standard in every trim? Cadillac is going all-out with this one and is clearly looking to conquer the luxury EV market at every level.
2025 Cadillac LYRIQ
While the new OPTIQ is getting a lot of attention, it’s just one part of the larger Cadillac lineup of EVs, and the LYRIQ continues to be a great option for a lot of drivers. This is a midsize SUV with electrified performance that remains as impressive as ever, though it might be getting outshined by the new models joining it. For example, while it gets an estimated 326 miles of range from a full charge, rear-wheel drive (RWD) is standard on the LYRIQ, with eAWD available as an option, rather than standard like on the OPTIQ. Still, this is great for drivers who want these options, and it makes sense that Cadillac wants to keep things simple for its entry-level offering while providing more choices at higher levels.
Performance has been upgraded for the 2025 model year, with 365 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque on RWD models; going with eAWD boosts that to 515 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque, which is excellent for a midsize SUV and makes the LYRIQ a marvel to drive. Inside, features like wireless phone charging and the stunning 33-inch LED display are standard in every trim, but the 19-speaker AKG Studio sound system is available, not standard like it is with the OPTIQ. Similarly, the Super Cruise system is also an available option here rather than standard; we typically see these kinds of differences when a new model is added to an established lineup, and I’m curious to see if these upgrades become standard in the next year or so.
2025 Cadillac ESCALADE IQ
Rounding out the selection of EVs available for Cadillac’s 2025 model year is one that a lot of people are excited about: the Escalade IQ. Yes, this is an all-electric version of the legendary Escalade, which is why fans of Cadillac’s luxurious and sophisticated full-size SUV are chomping at the bit for this one. Putting impressive electric performance into a small SUV is simple enough, but what Cadillac’s engineers have done with this one is something else. Consider this: the Escalade IQ is a full-size SUV with seating inside for up to seven passengers, yet it gets an estimated 460 miles of range from a full charge.
This beast features a two-motor eAWD system delivering 750 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque when using the Velocity Max feature, making it the most powerful Cadillac you can buy. It has advanced Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 and an Adaptive Air Ride Suspension for a smooth driving experience on 24-inch wheels wrapped in 35-inch tires to create an all-electric SUV unlike just about anything else I’ve seen. And just to ensure this model lives up to the Escalade’s reputation for luxury, it has a pillar-to-pillar 55-inch LED display stretching across the front dashboard, with a panoramic fixed-glass roof and a 40-speaker AKG Studio Reference sound system available to take the audio inside the Escalade IQ to another level. Despite its somewhat clunky name (though I’m glad Cadillac didn’t try to call it the ESCALIQ or something), there’s no denying that this SUV is the real thing.
Looking Ahead: 2026 LYRIQ-V
As impressive as this current slate of Cadillac EVs is, there’s actually more on the horizon set to join with next year’s lineup. For one thing, a new LYRIQ-V model will hit the road in 2026 as the first EV to wear the prestigious V-Series badge. If you’re a Cadillac fan, then you know the V-Series indicates high-performance vehicles, so this will be one to watch. Sadly, Cadillac has not yet revealed how the LYRIQ-V earned the badge in terms of specific performance and power, so we’ll have to wait and see on that one. However, the brand is confident this is just the first EV of many to join the V-Series, so it is clearly cooking up even more exciting models.
Looking Ahead: 2026 Cadillac VISTIQ
Speaking of which, Cadillac is also set to fill out its lineup with the VISTIQ next year, a three-row SUV that will slot between the midsize LYRIQ and full-size Escalade IQ. It’s estimated to provide about 300 miles of range from a full charge, with a Velocity Max performance system that lets it go from zero to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds while giving you three rows of seating inside. Standard features will include a 23-speaker AKG Studio sound system with Dolby Atmos, Super Cruise hands-free driving, and a 33-inch LED screen up front. This will be a big test for EVs since it provides drivers with options across the Cadillac lineup to meet pretty much every need, so I’m interested to see how the VISTIQ and the other models sell in the next few years.
Are We Ready for Cadillac’s Electrified Future?
As I said earlier, with all of these models available now and coming soon, it’s clear that Cadillac is not messing around and seeks to position itself as the luxury EV brand, at least for SUVs. The fact that it will have compact, midsize, three-row, full-size, and high-performance electric SUVs available says it all, and this will truly test whether luxury drivers are ready to fully embrace an all-electric future. I didn’t even get into the CELESTIQ, a bespoke ultra-luxury vehicle on another level entirely, which further shows that Cadillac is willing to provide EVs for every luxury market. It will be interesting to see how this lineup sells compared to the brand’s conventional vehicles like the XT4, XT5, and XT6. Cadillac is taking a gamble with this lineup, but the reward could be an entire generation of luxury SUV drivers that recognize Cadillac as the premier brand they’ll keep coming back to for many years.
